POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The accountant will be called upon to work in a dynamic and bustling team. The incumbent of the position will be responsible for monthly accounting, monitoring the operational budget and the capital budget, establishing forecasts and the annual budget as well as preparing annual audit files for real estate assets that will be assigned to you.


ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Analyze monthly management and financial reports and compare them with approved budgets
  • Compile and analyze financial information provided by property managers and partners
  • Coordinate the receipt on a monthly basis of all financial data provided by property managers and partners and validate the content
  • Ensure the execution of the internal controls put in place
  • Establish and maintain good business relationships with various property managers and partners.
  • Make the necessary adjustment entries on a monthly basis
  • Participate in assigned special projects
  • Participate in the execution of audit files as part of the annual audit
  • Participate in the preparation of forecasts and the operating budget as well as the development of the capital budget
  • Perform the various monthly and year-end reconciliations

Requirements

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • University degree in accounting an asset or administrative technician with relevant experience
  • Relevant experience of 1 to 3 years
  • Good knowledge of MS Office software, in particular Excel Knowledge of HOPEM and YARDI, an asset
